Evaluation and Assessment:
At Sunnyside
Unified School District there is one main assessment that we have here for
students, it is based off of data collection. There are monthly assessments
that are done and recorded to show district the progress of the students as
well as having poster boards in the
front of the class to show the student their own progress. There are 5 ranks
there is Accelerated, Advanced, Proficient, Basic, and Limited. Each rank is
specified by a color and charts are accessible to all staff member to see
progress of all students in the core courses. Data is collected for Math,
Science, English, and Social Studies. Teaching is monitored in many ways as well;
there are numerous walk-throughs as well as evaluations that are given to the
staff. The staff is also required to meet with his or her department to get
feedback on the challenges they may encounter with everyday teaching.
