Finances and Resources:
The
city of Sunnyside has several shopping centers and entertainment venues as well
as a vibrant downtown center containing many locally-owned businesses. A
once-thriving manufacturing plant recently announced significant employee
layoffs, and may eventually shut down altogether. Therefore, leaving Sunnyside
Unified School District in some worries regarding the revenue they will have
available for the district. We currently have a Treasurer and a Business
Manager who controls the fund and where they are allocated to. Other resources
that are available is the state funding and the levy ballots. Some recruitment
is not needed but during the levy all teachers,
some parents and students help in a levy walk in order to get
information out on the importance of the levy passage.
